Today is a day for food and wine.

      The last time I mentioned that the first attempt at baguette was successful, and at the same time, I also made spiced beef and put it in the refrigerator. Get up in the morning and cut the bread, slice the spiced beef, put the cheese, vegetables, and oven for 4 minutes, a full and fresh sandwich is done. I don’t know if this thing should be called a sandwich. I have been confused by the names of various foods here since I was in the United States. In China we add the word “bun” after almost every dough product . It’s over in the United States. Bread has various names. First of all, it can be called Bread, Toast, Baguette, Crossaint, Pain, Batard, Brioche. Yes, in addition to Burger and Sandwich, there are PB&J, which is two slices of bread coated with peanut butter and jam. And Montreal, Bauru, Crudo, Panini...Is it dizzy? This is really a country of immigrants, so the food names are varied, so I am afraid to go to the breakfast shop to order. I often eat something that I know, when I want to try new ones, I only can point it “this and that.” After you finish ordering, let somebody take it for heating and I go to the checkout . As a result, the cashier said, what did you order? I do not know. It’s embarrassing.

  I eat too much every night these days, and I don’t exercise enough during the day. It’s unhealthy, so we changed the big meal to noon and wanted to eat barbecue today. Immediately set up the stove , cut some fresh leeks in the yard, cut a little beef shoulder, onions and mushrooms, let’s go!

       I had eaten enough and said that I could not eat at night, but when I was hungry at six or seven o'clock, I cooked tuna fish and tomato pasta. When I was a child, I heard from my grandma that the hunger are unbearable when you are idle. Now I feel deeply that I want to eat all kinds of food when I stay at home. But I heard that everyone has no appetite at home recently, and they can hardly eat anything. Why is my appetite so good?

      After dinner, in order not to waste the soup made from the spiced beef yesterday, I used it to marinate a few pieces of dried tofu skin to make tofu rolls, which was actually very delicious, much like the taste when I was a child. The photos were sent to the cooking group, everyone is very greedy 😋. Later, I used this old soup to marinate the eggs, and I could marinate the lotus root, chicken wings or something. I suddenly felt that this soup can be used to marinate the world. Convenient and delicious, the key is Lou Mei can also be used to pair up with alcohol.

    It seems that these days there is not much serious drinking, which is a bit unusual for a person who loves alcohol . I usually ask my friends to go all out, but now I can only drink at home and without the casual chit-chat between friends. My lovely friends also invented a special drink , called Quarantini, which was specially made during the pandemic.

       After drinking beer at noon, I adjusted myself to a glass of "Quarantini" at night. This cool lady is drinking not alcohol, but rather loneliness. This remind me of the lunatic painter in "The Moon and Six Pences", even when he became homeless, he would order a glass of absinthe in a Parisian tavern, I guess it made him unable to distinguish between reality and illusion. So as to stick to his artistic life based on the suffering of others. At the moment, the soul of Martini I drink is vermouth, which exudes a hint of fennel. In such a quiet night, it makes me feel an simple happiness. This is probably the magic of wine, booze can make you fully and delightfully, and taking a sip can make people feel quiet.
